Adem

As one half of the legendary post-rock outfit Fridge (the other being Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet), and as founder of the Homefires folk festival and sometime musician with Vashti Bunyan and The Memory Band, Adem Ilhan has constantly pushed music forward.
His two sparkling solo albums of oddball electro-folk loveliness, ‘Homesongs’ and ‘Love And Other Planets’ (both released by Domino) have recently been followed by a covers album, ‘Takes’, and a soundtrack for Armando Iannucci’s hit political satire ‘In The Loop’, as well as production duties for a number of up-coming artists.
A musician with the rare capacity to comfort, beguile and honestly soothe.
“a multi-instrumentalist without peer, a one-man quintet and remarkable solo artist”

“Gentle yet never whimsical, intimate yet never insular, Adem captures the often-unrealized potential of bedroom recording. Avoiding crass emotioneering, it plays as a collection of late-night soliloquies. These are outward-looking songs of hope and hurt, wrapped in the warmth and familiarity that can only be replicated in the place one calls home”

Adem is performing on Sunday September 6th at the ‘Across The Borders’ festival.
